I’m not a college student, I’m an author of 7 books and, as an immigrant and Muslim living in the Divided States of America, an activist & concerned world citizen.
I urge you to read my personal essay, below, on our wounded world and tell me if you still think I’m programmed:
Thank you,
Yahia
I read this:
"Because he's vulgar and incompetent. Because he's misogynistic, materialistic and short-sighted.
Because he is corrupt and actively encourages nepotism. Because, he's thin-skinned, vain and vindictive. Because, he promotes hatred of immigrants and Muslims and is dividing the US, dangerously, while picking fights with the rest of the world."
by you.
For you to say this about someone you have never met, taking your opinions pre-formed from manipulative, agenda driven media (or other even more nefarious sources), tells me much more about you than him. In fact, it tells me nothing about him. It is pretty well a meaningless rant. But it does tell me that, since you call him "incompetent", which by any definition of the word I know he clearly is not, you and I do not share a common language and it would be a tragic waste of my time to read your writings.
Don't be rude, I would tell it to the teacher.
I am just a poor backwoods boy from Canada. I haven't even written one book, never mind 7!!! So I lack the sophisticated manners of a more civilized person, and just have to call something bullshit when I read it :-)
In my 8 weeks on Steemit I haven't come across a dialog this interesting/entertaining. You handled this gentleman's media induced hysteria, his Trump Derangement Syndrome, with calm, articulate, panache. Well done. I would add, as an American, he kinda proved the whole point of why many on the Right in America want to restrict immigration.
lol
Greece has great mythology and history..
it is very unfair for someone to talk like that..
each country must respect the other country..like people's the other people..
if there is no respect, wisdom and education do not deserve anything..
I actually read the whole conversation @onceuponatime. I admired how you handled the conversation effectively though there are differences in your opinions. You are definitely correct saying something mean to someone you havent met is just ridiculous. This world that we are living in is full of critics who just keeps on finding negative things to say about someone or somebody. Someone should be blamed for something is a stigma that should be stopped. They are completely brainwashed by media tactics. I always tell my students in class for a country to prosper its people should help the government and its officials in making the country great. If we want change. We will start with ourselves first.
Your students are lucky to have you!
Really? Its such an honor to hear nice words from you. I was just happy that someone also has the same views as mine. I am totally fed up with people who constantly criticize the government as if they did something to help the government theirselves.
