Aleksa's Book Review: Globalization & Public Administration

Some books confuse me to no end - they run in circles and never seem to get anywhere, yet go on for ages. The people writing these books were paid to do so, or at the very least got published by some major houses - this is one such book. For the life of me, I can't extract any single cohesive thought within the book, except for (you guessed it) NEOLIBERALISM BAD.

The book claims that the arguments of the Austrian school serve to reduce the role of the government in society, and then talks about how government should curtail such economic theory through teaching Keynesian economics. This is pretty clearly a book aimed at government servants who desperately want to clutch at their jobs, and need some kind of book to back up their weak arguments.

It seems that whoever asks you to read a book as opposed to providing an argument never actually reads the book themselves: this is the type of book that is forgotten as soon as it's spawned, and with good reason. If you want to know how to organise a union of government workers, lobby for more sick days and similar things...this is the book for you, you parasite.
