Jesus described the world from the perspective of His ministry, He was talking about Himself as the sower, He is the sower and the seed he sows is the word of God, and the ground is the world. The gospel of Jesus Christ has gone round the world and the approach to it is exactly what he told in the parable, he classified the world into four grounds.
• The ones that fell along the path: are those who heard the word of God and satan came and took away the word.
• The ones that fell on a rocky ground: are those that heard the word and received it immediately with joy, but they jave no root in themselves that the word may live in them forever, when tribulations and persecution came they fell off.
• The ones that fell on thorns are the people who heard the word but the desires of the world riches and material things entered in and choke the word and it became unfruitful.
• The ones that fell on the good ground are the people who heard the word and accept it and bear fruit.
In this parable the sower was very careless in sowing his seed, because no sensible farmer would scatter hi seeds without preparing the ground first. The parable is about responsibility, fruitfulness of the word of God requires responsibility. Check your check yourself and know the class you fell in and if you are not good enough then seek the grace of God.
#prayer: Almighty God we thank you for your word we thank you for life and every good thing, sow your word in us once more and give us the grace to be a good soil. In Jesus Name. Amen
I have learnt a new things from the parable of the seed sower from a Rev Fr who analysed this bible passage for us and that is persistence. The sower was so persistent despite the failures in the first set of planting until he finally planted on a rich soil
Yeah thats it, another view of the parable
