THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD VERSUS THE FALSE PROPHET

in #gospel7 years ago

Matthew 5:14-15 King James Version (KJV)

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

A message of man's journey in life how he was planted in this world to be the light of this darkened world is a foreshadow of what was in the beginning that exist even before God created man. In the beginning of the creation of the world is:

Genesis 1:1-3 King James Version (KJV)

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Certainly this "Light" refers to Jesus Christ. John 8:12 (KJV) "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." The same as in the beginning as the Apostle John said in John 1:1-5

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Reflecting it to our present generation the world is a total void and darkened by evil malicious hearts of men and God saw that the hearts of men are only wicked. But God saw one light in this darkened, void world and it was YOU. And so God said "Let there be YOU (light): and there was YOU (light). And YOU (the light) shines in this world of darkness but the darkened world cannot understand YOU (the light).

But how could this be? How can we a mere man be the light of this world? I thought the light of the world is Jesus Christ?

The answer to that question is very simple. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world" but relying to this would not answer the question how? How did Jesus the LIGHT OF THE WORLD be able to do it in us that we become the light of the world? This question was revealed unto us and the apostle Paul was convinced also in 2 Corinthians 4:6 saying: "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." More so, even Jesus said it in John 8:12 "...he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but SHALL HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE."

One must understand that a follower of Christ Jesus is not all men who are in the church praising them in Sunday morning nor Saturday nor Monday nor Tuesday or any day. Christ's followers are identified by Christ even in the beginning. In John 10:27 Jesus clearly said: "My sheep hear my voice, and I KNOW THEM, and they follow me" and in John 10:14 Jesus said it again "I am the good shepherd, and KNOW MY SHEEP, and am known of mine." No man can claim that he is Christ's disciple nor can he testify to the people that this man or that man is Christ's follower because only Jesus Christ can say who are His sheep.

But that doesn't mean we cannot identify Christ's chosen's disciple. Apostle John gave us a unique identification mark on how to identify in 1 John 1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." Moreover, in verse 10 "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." This statements John said is a reflection of most church goers and even most Christians do, they seemed to ignore that they are a sinner and trying to look righteous but God looks in our hearts! This is the main reason why God is the only one who can say YOU ARE HIS FOLLOWER.

Matthew 7:15-17 (KJV)

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

But how can a mere Christian become a false prophet? Jeremiah has the answer to that question that no man take into account:

Jeremiah 17:9-11 (KJV)

9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

10 I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

More so, even Apostle John said in 1 John 2:9-11 "(9) He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. (10) He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him. (11) But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.

Most Christians didn't notice this very simple things that makes one a false prophet and try to look at traditional definitions of being a false prophet as most Christian churches indoctrinated us from the very beginning.

Off all this things I wrote there are only TWO (2) thing I will leave you in this message:

  1. Proverbs 4:23 "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."
  2. Jeremiah 33:3 "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest
    not."
