Go Pro Hero 5 goes to underwater

Would you like to take pictures under the water surface? Not everything is just easy as you move in the wet element, but with the right settings, you can get beautiful pictures. Here you get my great tips. If you have a hard-to-compact camera, a small action camera or a smartphone that can handle water, you can quickly get started with underwater images. Like mine.. Go Pro Hero 5. 

I love this camera because small and easy to carry while travelling. Although small still be able to record video with excellent quality even up to 4 k. Water resistant, this is paramount. Other good things about this camera can find in this article. 

Before we talk about little setting in Go Pro Hero 5 to take the photo underwater, let us take a look some tips from other sites to take an underwater photo.

1. Get the best underwater focus

Things go so massively underwater that you should therefore only use the camera's single point focus. That way you can move the focus point exactly where you want it to.

2. Beware of focal length extension

As light waves are broken differently underwater than in the air, multiply your focal length by 1.4 when shooting underwater.  If you use a focal length of 28 mm, it will be equal to just under 40 mm.  In other words, you can't get the wide-angle underwater.

3. Improve sharpness

Everything moves underwater — including the photographer — so you'll be sure to get crisp images, so you'll need fast shutter speeds. 

A shutter speed of 1/200 seconds usually provides sharp images underwater and is not bright enough for this shutter speed, so turn up the ISO or choose a larger aperture.

4. Choose the correct distance

Whether you use your phone or an underwater camera to take pictures, it is essential that you focus on your face and first expose when the person is about 30-50 cm from you. 

With the ISO 200 and an aperture F 8.0 you are sure that the shutter speed will be fast enough and the depth of time sufficient.

5. Beware of sand and dirt

When snorkelling with your camera, be sure to swim with gentle strokes. This way you avoid the swirling of so much sand from the seabed. Do not use the flash as it will only indicate impurities in the water in front of the subject.

Here I was doing with the camera before getting into the water and took a few photos.

• Clean the lens. Take the time to close the case and make sure there are no fingerprints or dust on the lens of your GoPro.
• Clean the gasket of your GoPro thoroughly. Make sure there is no dirt on the white rubber seal, as this can cause a leak. It is also essential that the rubber edges of the back door are well in the housing for clamping the black latch.
• Take care of anti-fog inserts so that the present moisture is absorbed into the air. Without these special inserts, the humidity can condense on the inside surface of the casing and especially on the lens. This will cause a fog ring that blurs all photos and videos.
• Determine the settings of your camera depending on what you want to capture video or photos. For videos, you can generally best use the Super View on 80fps. For photos, the time-lapse mode is at the highest resolution and an image at every half or whole second.
• Make use of a dive filter. A red dive filter will make your shots in blue water look better. Thanks to the filter you get a better contrast and difference in colours. Check out the red dive filters for GoPro. Film you in green water, for example, lakes with many algae, you should use a purple filter.
