How Google Secretly Protects its own from Hacking

How Google secretly protects its employees from hacking is physical key. What is meant by physical key? Here is a brief explanation to googles solid strategy of preventing hackers.

Hackers uses the phishing method to trap people and make them fall victim. Phishing is a cyber attack that uses disguised email as a weapon. The goal is to trick the email recipient into believing that the message is something they want or need — a request from their bank, for instance, or a note from someone in their company — and to click a link or download an attachment. By following this false information, the person likely would have revealed his details to the hackers without knowing.

SO HOW DOES GOOGLE HALT THIS?

Google has revealed through their spokesperson that, the adoption of physical Security Keys has stopped the attacks in their tracks.

Physical Security Keys are small USB stick devices made by YubiKey. The key functions just like two-factor authentication (2FA) methods you may (and should!) already be using.

With 2FA enabled, hackers will need more than just a username and password for access. A second factor is required, often a secret number sent to a trusted telephone number by SMS, or a key generated by an authentication app like Google Authenticator.

Yubikey’s Security Keys operate on an open-source standard called
Universal 2nd Factor (U2F), which is already supported by a number of companies and products such as Google, Dropbox, and Facebook, as well as browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, and Opera.

Google says phishing/hackers incidents among its employees dropped to zero after adopting Security Keys.

Do you think Google’s promising results could help these keys gain the momentum for more widespread adoption?
