Look for the Goodness

We grasp for goodness. We hope every moment of our lives will somehow be colored with it, even though we know that is only a pipe dream. Goodness is always there but at some moments we are oblivious to it, which says a lot about where we place our attention, where our focus lies.

These days are full of desperation. People longing, in pain, needy, hungry, lost. There is so much of it that sometimes if I do not go into my room and shut the door, I might easily find myself drowning. Some of us need to maintain a vigil of optimism, need to keep the faith a bit longer, while we all incubate.

This is a time of change. Some will not notice. They will go about their days surviving and striving to keep up with the status quo. Some will notice. These ones will maintain center, hold a space of awareness and knowing for all of us. As we rise from the ashes of greed, stinginess, gluttony, as our consciousness expands and makes us more aware, makes us able to see more of the big picture, (or perhaps, at least the next chapter of the story), something wonderful is being stirred. A new day for humanity dawns bringing more awareness, more goodness, more love. It transcends the obvious.

"Good order is the foundation of all good things." --Edmund Burke

There are signs of it everywhere if you have eyes to see, ears to hear. In the midst of Kali Yuga all is not lost for consciousness goes on and on. There is nothing we can do to stop it. We can choose to not see, not recognize, keep our lives so full of nothing that we will not notice until maybe it is too late, but consciousness itself will not stop. It goes on because it must--with or without us. This is a critical moment, a time of choice. Can you feel it? There is something new happening, something big, something wonderful. Cast your eyes from the evidence of the five senses and go beyond. Appearances are designed to keep you caught in the loop of materiality. But there is more. You can see it if you try. But even if you don't, it is there.

Goodness is in the midst of us, even especially when we don't know it.
