The Golem Project just raised $8.6 million in ETH in 20 minutes this morning! This was done via an Ethereum Smart Contract, and served 2 purposes: 1) The creation of the network token (GNT) so cloud computing providers can receive payment in a decentralized fashion from consumers. 2) Raising money for future development of the Golem platform.
