I've written a bit about our trip to Nicaragua in two different posts, but I have much more to share coming soon.
This sunset was taken from the "drug lord's" home we rented. We called it that because we couldn't believe how nice it was considering we rented it so cheaply.
It had 24 hour armed guards (whom we fed well all week, constantly bringing them snacks and drinks). We felt bad for them because they worked 20 hour shifts! They did this for two days and were then off for two days. Seemed crazy to us. It also had a beautiful swimming pool and three very swanky bedrooms and it's own lighthouse tower attached to the house. We rented it for 10 days complete with a cook that prepared every meal for $1,700 total for all 6 of us.
The shoreline here was incredible with lots of volcanic rocks, etc lining the beach which created a great environment to spot sea creatures.
Captured with a Sony Nex5 camera with default lens.
Hope you enjoyed the photo.

What a stunning sunset!
It's amazing how far US dollars go in Latin American countries. :-)
Exactly, one of the many reasons I love it down there!
Love the photo = ) Did the cook prepare good stuff for you folks ? Also, were there any people close to the house you rented? Seems like that beach is kinda abandoned and very private which is super cool for a family vacation.
Thank you for contributing to the Steemit Community.Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to your next posts.
Thank you very much. For sure, the lady that cooked for us would go to the fishing village down the road every day to get fresh seafood and veggies to cook. It was truly great food. The funnies part was that they put Franks hot sauce on everything, we were laughing because Franks is made in New Your City.
There were only 4 houses on that beach in about a 2 mile stretch so it was definitely very private. That was probably one of our favorite parts. Thanks a lot for stopping by @castbound!
Those colors are spectacular 👍👍👍
Thank you brother.
That price might be the deal of a lifetime for what you described...so epic haha. Also, awesome sunset shot...was drawn in by the great colors you captured. I spent time in Granada teaching English in a low income area and sleeping at night in the schoolhouse that we taught in. It was an incredible experience, and Nicaragua is a really cool country.
That sounds like an incredible experience. We visited a lot of schools to take supplies in Nicaragua. It really is a diamond in the rough. Glad you liked the picture. Thanks much!
Wow that is definitely one enthralling picture. The colors are amazing! I'd very much love to visit South-America someday
Oh man, you should. I love it down there.
