The Light Remains, the Light Returns … Thailand – GoldenHour Photography

As the sun slips below the horizon, just look what it leaves behind.

The remains of the daylight

This is what it leaves us … the bold blue sky, softly highlighted with wisps of pure white or golden yellow clouds. The various sharp silhouettes of natural phenomena and of our civilization. The reflection of the last rays of sunlight off the surface of the water, almost invisible at the bottom of the photo.

The reassurance of light

And as always, just moments before the blazing sun slips completely below the horizon, its ever-vivid rays declare, “I’m still here,” and “I’ll be back early tomorrow.”
Location – Chiang Mai, on Google Maps

This is my entry in @juliank’s GoldenHour Photography contest.

My wife and I really like Chiang Mai, Ok, so we like pretty much every part of Thailand we have been to.

We got married in Kho Samui on the eve of Songkran and only just adopted a little 17-month-old Thai boy into our family two months ago.

Cool. I agree, there's much of Thailand to "really like." Now that you have your son in the family, you have a good excuse to visit Thailand more often. Just convince each other that your son has to go visit his other home...

Thanks for your input!

This is yet another beautiful shot. I love the marriage of the blue bride and the yellow groom on the fine, white altars of the sky. I am thrilled, to say the least by your brilliance and expertise.

The sunset was brilliant. I just snapped the shot. ☺

Poetic, nostalgic.

Thanks. I definitely am NOT a poet, but if you think the above is in some way "poetic," I am thrilled.

It's such beautiful photo, I love it!

The composition and the color and the perfect moment made for a gorgeous shot!

Cool pic... those are Pagodas? The pyramid shaped objects.

No, they're just large concrete pyramids at the corners of the rooftop patio. Painted a soft tan color.

I really like your photos taken almost before sunset, they are delicious.

Мне очень нравятся ваши фото, сделанные практически перед самым закатом, они восхитительны.
