Golden Sands

Here is my entry to #goldenhourphotography hosted by @juliank from @photocontests.

When I think of golden hour/golden time, I usually think of sunsets and sunrises. It's that time of day where you can get the best colours in the sky and it's nice light to work with. But this week I'm going to go a little different.

On our holiday to Bagara in Queensland I spent most mornings on the beach, it's absolutely glorious up and really it is the best time of the day. While I snapped a heap photos of the sand, surf and sunshine, it wasn't until I stopped and looked around that I saw the glow from the sun highlighting everything on the beach! I'm so use to looking out towards the ocean that sometimes you need to change focus and see what else it is you're missing. The glow was glorious, it was shining in the water, on the rocks, on the sand and up into the trees. Everything was golden!

It also highlighted the footprints in the sand and cast shadows behind the rocks giving more detail to what you'd normally have. So what Iearnt from this trip, was to look up and check all of my surroundings... you just never know what you're missing out on if you're always concentrating on one thing.
