Win a lot more at Gods Unchained ep. 1

in #godsunchained3 years ago (edited)

Hello you all, this will be a series of tips on how to win more in Gods Unchained.

I'll start Episode 1, with a unussual tip 🤓 . - THE CLOCK.

Understanding the clock will make you win at least 20%😉 more games.

But what is the clock🤨?
Basically how many turns left you have to win the game.

Why the clock is important?
You need to adapt the way you play depending on the clock.
The clock will let you know when to play safe, pasive, risk or aggresive.

How to know many turns left you got?
The first understand your own deck, it should have a strategy, synergy and a win condition. That will give you half the info needed to set the clock.

imagen.png
This is Aggro Nature, wide wild board synergy with win-con face is the place 💥
With a deck like this you got a 5-6 turns (counting only your turns).

imagen.png
This is Midrange Nature, antimeta deck, with a lot of answer to everything exept bwd, win-con counter opponent stuff 🚫while mantaining board presence. 7-9 turns

imagen.png
This Control Nature, synergy with cards that slow the game down (clock) by destroy 🧨frontline🏛 or sleep 😴 win-con leave opponent without resouces, while you keep generating cards 🤑and drop big late game stuff. 12 turns or more. I dont own any of those card so no control deck for me, shoutout to @regente.

There are also combo decks, that want to kill you in an especific way. In to new to GU and havent saw an actual 100% combo deck, so ill use other game examples.

imagen.png
Yugioh- draw as fast as possible all 5 pieces of exodia to win the game.(not a mana based game, but still a viable example)

imagen.png
Hearstone - Freeze (sleep) monsters, drop Alextrasa turn 9 to set opponent life to 15, then frost bolt, ice lance and fireball their face next turn.

After you understand your deck , you have to know your rival's, the second part of the clock.

You need a basic knowledge of the meta, be aware of how your opponent is playing (fast, slow, aggresive, drawing, stalling) what cards are they using so you can decifer their deck strategy synergy and win-con

I'll give you this trick I just think about yesterday to make this easier in GU weekends😝.

Before you pick your hero power look at your opponent deck in Gudecks, so you know what he es playing 🤣, that is public info😉.

Well back to the guide.

Now with all that info you can set the clock of the game. In other words the pace of it.

The clock of a game will constantly change depending of what is actually happening in-game.😎😕😱

I'll give one example to make this a little bit more clear and to not extend this post further more.

You are playing and aggro deck that ussually win turn 5-6, you have full health.
imagen.png
vs a Control Mage with a lot of board clears, ussually wins in 12-16 turns, he have 15 health.

The game is turn 9 atm, so you are overdue in the game clock you should win 3 turns ago.

What would you do?
A) Play risky and aggresive by summoning all creatures that you can even if you spend all your hand

or

B) Play safe and keep some of them because they might boardwipe you.

The correct answer is A.
You are already loosing the game, even if you are at full health, your time was already over, now your opponent big stuff is playable you have like a 90% chance of loosing that game.

So the correct play is to play super aggresive, super risky to increase your chances of winning, even if you lose that game, know that because of the clock that was the best move you could do.

You can use this for all type of decks and situations.
If the clock is on your side and you are winning you can play more safetly, dont over extend, you are already winning the clock. (beware of carnage swipe, the hunt, sole survivor etc).

If you have a creature that destroy relics, your opponent havent use their relics and your are close to your clock limit and no other creature to summon, summon it use it to put more preasure on board, doesnt matter if you dont use the roar.

These are just examples it will always depend on the state of the game. But as a general rule the clock is key to win unwinnable games and to avoid loosing games that you are already winning.
