The act of physical writing is an awesome tool that can be used in both identifying goals and allowing you to focus on the goal once it has been identified.
I could spend hours writing and exploring what I want out of life. It is a great way of exploring your dreams and allowing your imagination to flow. This allows us to visualise our goals and really start to believe that they are possible. We have more success when we can visualise our goals and have the ability to associate feelings with them.
The reason for this is that we have two parts of our mind that affect what we do and how we think. The subconscious and the conscious. The subconscious mind controls everything that we do. It is linked to our values, mindset, and habits that we have formed over many years. Whereas the conscious mind can be affected by choices and reason. The conscious mind is ultimately controlled by the subconscious mind. In relation to our goals we need to imbed the vision associated with our goal in the subconscious mind. This causes us to take action towards our goal and actually make it happen.
Now this isn’t about knowing how you are going to achieve your goals. It’s about identifying your goal, and really knowing what you want. Having a vision of your goal and the feelings associated with it. Allows your goal to become reality. You can then start exploring everything that is related to achieving your gaol. Such as the feeling that your goal will bring you when you have achieved it, or how it will make your loved ones feel. We all have our own motivations for achieving goals. Just keep writing and exploring. When you start to trust in this process it will happen.
Achieving your goal doesn’t happen overnight but this process of writing encourages you to focus on ways to makes your goals happen. It helps us to overcome paradigms that prevent us from moving forward toward our goal. It give us a purpose and a reason to keep going when the going gets tough.
Mechanics related to physically writing (with a pen) also helps our mind to believe what we are writing. There is a link between writing and remembering. When we write in the present tense and focus on our goal, as if we have already achieved the goal, it is more achievable. This process brings our goal to the forefront of our mind and helps us to focus on positive actions that will assist in reaching our goals.
So I want to encourage you to get writing, and get an image of your goal so it will happen.
Love & Blessings,
Nic
