It's important to have goals as a way of challenging us and pushing that rock of progress forward, bit by bit. My latest is to make an attempt for the 'Hive Power Up Month Challenge' for January.
Even going back to the Steemit days since I went live back in 2017 (after lurking for a year), I don't think I ever managed to post every single day for an entire month.
It's been difficult since then with work, school, and being "the responsible one' in the family, and having so many people relying on you. But I've decided to give it a shot, and so far, so good.
Yeah I know it's only been a few days into 2025, but thus far I've managed to publish something each day along with the last post of 2024. So I'll take my wins wherever I can get them. :)
It makes it a little easier because they allow you to either write a post for the day (set @ 100% powerup), OR power up 1 HIVE daily, OR any combination of the two, so long as you do at least one of those daily.
Thus far, I've managed to do both the powerup as well as a post every day ("just in case").
In the past, I'd been able to string together enough blog posts to be awarded the Hive weekly badge, so now I just have to do it 4 weeks in a row.
I think I can.
One Step at a Time...
But the good thing is that with every post, consecutive or not, we're each adding another page in The Book of Hive, and giving prospective new visitors a opportunity to take Hive out for a test drive.
That can only be a good thing, as the more you write, the better you become as a writer.
So between now and the 31st, I look forward to seeing how far along I can get towards meeting this goal.
Every day when I wake up, the first thing I do is either powerup that 1 HIVE, or begin working on the blog post of the day. If Bradley Arrow can do it, so can I. Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead! :)
