Personally, I focus more on efficient energy distribution in the body, so that food doesn't overload but delivers the nutrients I need in a less metabolically expensive way. The body spends time and energy digesting and converting some compounds. If I can somehow avoid that I get more from less. Water and minerals also play a huge role. For some reason, I always mess up with water and drink far less than I need.
