If we're going for memories about railroads I have plenty from when I was a child because my dad and granddad are very interested in trains. I remember when I was about 4 years old, being let into the front of the train to blow the whistle and it was so loud that it terrified me and I ran out back into the carriages.

I was super fascinated with trains when I was a kid. I don't think I ever got to blow a train whistle though, which sounds great (but I can see why it would terrify a four year old, haha).
