Hey happysmileyman, got one more thing we have in common.
My Grandfather and Grandmother owned a rock store, or better known as a gem and mineral / jewelry store. They traveled around the USA collecting stones back when the digging was good, 1950's up until they got to old to climb mountains and dig deep holes.
I was at their side ever chance I had. They had 3 girls and a boy(my dad) and 12 Grandkids. I was the only one that went and did the dirty work, everyone else wanted the final product.
Well when they both passed, I was Willed the shop. About 20 thousand pounds worth, plus all the saws, polishers, grinders and everything that went along with it. In the Will, Papa said, if I choose to give the family some that would be up to me, as far as I am concerned, you all got all you need when I was alive. .........Enjoy it.
That was 20 years ago, I have gathered more and my wife prays to God that we never have to move.
I will do a post later and show you some.
Thanks for the post, always love remembering Papa.
