Back to the Fractal

The Genesis Fractal quite often feels like a combo of school and work. Much like in the image above where Marty is in school with his mentor Doc, whom he works for, while also having some fun all the way through. Fractally has a nice balanced feeling to it, especially when you are in control of the exposure level in each area. Like school and work we always manage, and it's important, to find time for a good laugh and some fun. Let's take a deeper look at this perception and assess the value and validity.

School:

  • We all remember our first days of school and the butterflies that can come with it. The feeling for some can be similar when starting your first Genesis Fractal zoom meetings. If this is holding anyone back from attending, I and the community strongly encourage you to dip your toes in the water. You will encounter a very friendly group of people, and I have no doubt will make new positive professional working relationships and friends. We also all greatly value the attendance of everyone because even the act of attending is a very valuable contribution to this dynamic project, in fact all honest engagement is valued more on that at the end.
  • Like school the rate of learning is rapid (if your paying attention) we can always choose to enhance our understandings in this nuanced field of De-Gov and Web3 by re-reading the Fractally White Paper, More Equal Animals, and reviewing community contributions like Matt Langston's recent contribution https://hive.blog/fractally/@mattlangston/a-model-independent-method-to-measure-uncertainties-in-fractal-governance-consensus-algorithms this post led to a critique post from Dan Larimer https://hive.blog/fractally/@dan/how-to-measure-consensus-on-group-values and after absorbing both contributions I have learned new things to help me better understanding data analysis and assess both objective and subjective value in particular to our new frontier in Fractal Governance.

Work

  • There is no shortage of work available from content creation ,to analyzing protocols, feedback, consensus meetings, networking , and more. I like to keep an eye out for important work by members like Tadas's recent White Paper laying out how to economically incentivize other chains to adapt fractal governance.

Another example is Jorge Ramos's recent contribution laying out interesting similarities worth looking out between Fractally and Tesla such as fast feedback loops, self organization, and self management. https://gofractally.com/posts/fractal-democracy-and-tesla-who-can-find-the-similarities-in-this-video

  • Working at your own pace is a unique feeling for me as I have historically been tethered to a punch clock. A dream goal I now have in the wake of oppressive job mandates is to become an independent worker. I enjoy the freedom of choosing what and how much time I input into my contributions. I have in my short 10 week stint have done a range of contributions from attending the weekly consensus meetings, to joining a team, to writing articles, to joining a radio show, having email and phone call correspondence with journalists and organizations like World Freedom Alliance and much more. It's very exciting to see the financial opportunities for income whether it's from hive posts, accumulating Respect tokens, or networking to help build business'. There will be even more financial opportunities in the near future with the official launch of the Fractal Blockchain coming soon!

Some Fun

  • I have been enjoying meeting new people and developing working relationships and potential friendships. Its a lot of fun exploring new communities like Alien World https://gofractally.com/groups/7952365/feed I had a good laugh watching Patrick, Dan, and Duane having some fun here

Conclusion:

  • Members truly have a lot to gain by participating in our community from learning, to working, to having some fun and building new relationships and networks. This is a golden opportunity to set a life in a new direction, so I encourage any member that has been reluctant to engage to get up and dance. We look forward to getting to know you and seeing your future contributions. I consider all engagement a contribution! Ask questions in our chat, start exploring the members profiles and following them, cheer articles you enjoy, and leave comments. These are all valuable contributions and once you start that up, I don't think it will be long thereafter that you join the Saturday Fractal Genesis consensus meeting via zoom.
