Hello again, world's inhabitants!
I decided I want to make a small series of posts to show you guys every piece of art I made for my first videogame, Abraham's Lantern.
The game is still a work in progress, since my team and I decided to finish it outside the Global Game Jam, we felt it had too much potential to let everything die there.
That's why I'll show you some of the concept art pieces I made to explore different scenarios in which the game takes place.
Remember what I said in my last post about the game starting in grayish colors creating a lonely atmosphere, but the ambient would slowly increasing in color as Abraham collects back the pieces of himself?
I had to create those levels of color in this concept art as well. This one is Abraham's bedroom.
Starting like this:
Then like this, now with full color but still having a lonely feeling.
And finally, when Abraham's all healed up, with a cozy warm atmosphere.
During the creation of Abraham's character, we planned a few personality traits and hobbies for him. Such as him being a videogame enthusiast who loves puzzles and riddles. This led him to deeply enjoy the classic Rubik's cube since he was 6 years old.
As you can see, I tried to portray those features in his bedroom.
This drawing was only a sketchy representation of what the actual rooms would be, because at the end I had to take this concept and make it a square-like background for the character to move inside of. But don't worry, I will show you guys those too in my next hive update ;)
Thank you for reading!
All content is my own unless otherwise stated.
Oh wow that's cool I love the inclusion of light sabers ontop of the bed. Wouldn't want them to fall on you during the night 🤣
In all seriousness great stuff and the art work for the game looks great, well done.
Hahaha 🤣 I was trying to make it look like a geek boy room, so the classic light saber was a MUST. Thank you very much!
Yesahhh you are living the dream job and i like what you come up with and blogging about it is also great , keep it up dear
