Feel like we are buried in Funko Pops right now. Well over 1000, closer to 1200, were just purchased for the store. The person was buying and stockpiling them to start doing conventions. With Covid killing the entire 2020 show season by us plus likely most of 2021 and him just having a baby he decided to just unload them in 1 bulk sale.
Multiple other stores were trying to get them, but the fact we had cash on hand to buy immediately allowed us to get the buy. So glad we are in a position to make purchases like this one without stressing about the capital investment. Wasn't that long ago a buy like this would of been very stressful.
Now onto the work of pricing out 1100+ pops...just a little work ahead of me!
Show some pics!!!
It's just a pile of boxes right now, but for sure I will be using this for some content. SO many pops. Will take some photos of the "water damaged pops" that I had to remove from boxes today. Honestly I don't know why anyone keeps these in box...they are great figures once removed from packaging. The boxes are just SOOOO boring to me. But I guess that really shows what type of collector I am, 100% out of box. Don't own a single in package items personally. My Wife has a few packaged items, but also for the most part is loose only. I seriously want to rip open the couple sealed items she has.
The water issue was the final thing that pushed this person over the edge to selling. Some great Pops lost a ton of value as their boxes were destroyed from a small leak in the basement. He thought is was good by having the boxes off the ground, but had a few that touched the wall and those got destroyed.
Oh man...don’t get me started on the Pop collectors and how anal they are over box conditions...
