Interesting. I haven't grown fruit trees ever so I didn't know birds were such a problem.
Right now I am having problems keeping pest away from my garden greens.... :(

Garlic insecticide works the best, try to make it, its very easy. Also if you don't disturb the spiders in the garden they'll eat all the bugs, it crazy but it works
