RE: Glass gem corn.

How cool!! I love the different colors :)
We are trying our hand at growing corn this year, among many other things. I feel we should do okay at it since last year we grew a little "child of the corn" as we like to call it, by accident. The little kernel fell from a bird feeder and actually grew! It was the cutest little corn. We were wondering what it was and our curiosity got to us and we pulled it. It was only about and inch and a half long. :D

I'm not sure if it was just an urban legend but I've heard of a little old lady accidently nurturing a cannabis plant that sprouted from birdseed. Good excuse at least even if it wasn't true lol. If you grow sweet corn, cook it as quickly as you can, after you harvest it. When you pick it the sugars start to turn to starch almost instantly. The faster you get it from the plant to the pot to cook it in, the sweeter and more nutrient rich it will be...

LOL! Great story either way, whatever works!

Thanks for the tip! Our garden isnt big by any means. I love being able to go outside and pick salad toppings for the evening. My daughter loves being able to pop a tomato in her mouth when she walks out there!

I like stuff I can "forage" in the garden, too.Tomatoes, beans, peas, strawberries, are all good ones to snack on in the garden.

Yes, Definitely! Cant wait for our weather to clear up so we can get more things going. The weather has not been on our side so far this year with all the rain and cold. Hopefully that means we wont have drought conditions coming up!

The weather in California has been interesting. It was very warm without much rain. Today it's snowing lol.

LOL! I hear ya, Im in central Texas and it went from 74 to one morning to 34 that night and its been raining ever since! Thankfully we have a little greenhouse set up so the plants that we already planted wont drown. Praying for a sunny day!

It's nice and sunny today. Watching the snow melt right now. Hopefully it hasn't damaged the citrus too much. Some of my succulents have melted. Sad...
