I have achieved Gardening Level 1

in #gardening7 years ago

I've recently started trying my hand at growing some pot plants, to bring some colour into my garden. I'm renting, so i didn't want to plant anything that I cant take with us when we move.

The Geraniums were a pretty good plant to start with as they are fairly forgiving plants that love the Australian climate. The red geranium was in the discount bin at Bunnings as it was looking past its prime, but I think I've done a good job at bringing it back to life!

The one with the almost 'pointy' blooms is called Christmas Candle. this was also in the discount bin, and is a more recent purchase but with a new pot, a little fertiliser and a loot of love, it will hopefully thrive and flower every year around Christmas time.

Nice, I go through phases of spending half the day out in the garden... and then I won't be out there for a month.

I really need to get back onto it.

Looking forward to seeing more from you! :)

We have a yard that’s really easy to maintain (I think we’ve watered the plants twice in more than a year and they’re still alive). As I get more into it (and keep everything alive!) I will gradually increase the difficulty and maintenance of the plants

My brother gave us an avocado tree, which is about a metre high.
It's getting me enthused. I get sick of spraying the weeds just to have them come back, so since nature abhors a vacuum I'm going to plant a whole lot of stuff everywhere and see what sticks.
