Just a few minutes walk from my apartment lies a community garden. Placed in a park, it was started about ten years ago. It is one of ten community gardens in the town of Malmö, Sweden (the town has about 300 000 inhabitants).
This picture shows about a third of the garden. The garden is run by a volunteer network with some assistance by the city. To be able to grow here you have to be a member in the volunteer network. The garden is open to the public. Whenever I am passing I am usually taking a look at how the garden evolves and what the plants look like.
There are different kinds of grow beds in the garden. If you have a garden you need some help with pollination as well as keeping a healthy ecosystem of insects. To give them housing is a way of helping the insects along.
We have had an unusual long winter this year but now it finally, and suddenly, feels like the spring is here! Since I am so not good at recognizing plants I will not try to name them.. but I sure do enjoy them!
Leaving the garden for this time.
