Hello steemians, this morning I am trying to post something with the eSTEEM Android app for the first time. So please feel free to make fun of me if my formatting needs work :p
If you remember a little while ago I made a post about the small garden I have growing in pots on the patio behind my apartment.. I thought a small update on the progress of my pepper plants would be a good experiment in posing out of this app. (I am really not used to posting directly from my phone!)
Serrano Pepper
This plant is producing like crazy, it had so many flowers and is growing quite a few pepers. These serranos are technically spicier peppers then a jalepeno, however I tried two of these last night and while the flavor was amazing, the heat was lacking. Perhaps I tried them too soon?
Cayenne Pepper
My cayennes are coming in super nicely as well. These peppers I always leave on the plant until they are mature then pick them and dry them! Way better then any red pepper flakes you can buy in the store!
Anaheim Pepper
The least impressive of my plants so far, yield wise. This one has only begun growing three peppers so far and they are still quite small. However it has quite a few flowers up top shooting out so I am hopeful for a bigger yield as the summer wares on. These peppers are a bit bigger and milder then the other two I have and I plan to take the bunch I get and make mini stuffed peppers with them.
What does everyone think about the formatting of this post? Are the images too large? If so, is there any way to adjust image size through formatting that anyone is aware of? Or is this just a limitation of posting with a phone app?
Any other tips and suggestions. If I can get this to work I think it might be fun to share more photos I take with everyone. This app seems like the ideal method to use in order to do that!
Hi @justtryme90
I think, your prime postings through esteem are so perfect, so no one can make fun of you: D
Your little garden looks neat, and your chilli plant looks also begin to bear fruit.
I also planted it behind my backyard some time ago, only from a different kind of you. :)
Ooh, what variety is this?? It grows the peppers upward.
This variety is Cayenne pepper. He does not grow up, it's just that when he is immature he follows his growing interest.
Cayenne pepper is a fruit and plant member of the genus Capsicum. In addition to Sumatra, it is also growing and popular as a spice in other Southeast Asian countries. In Malaysia and Singapore he is named the rice cili, the Filipino pheasant patch, and in Thailand phrik khi nu. In Kerala, India, there is a traditional dish that uses chili sauce and is called kanthari mulagu. In English he is known by the name Thai pepper or bird's eye chili pepper.
Chili pepper turns its color from green to red when cooked. Despite its smaller size than other chilli varieties, it is considered quite spicy because its spiciness reaches 50,000 - 100,000 on a Scoville scale. Traditional cayenne pepper is sold in markets along with other chili varieties.
The one I have is also a Cayenne, however none of the peppers have ever grown in an upward direction, even when they were very small. Interesting.
All pepper varieties from bell to jalapeno come from Capsicum Annuum and can look any type of way! Many are grown for ornamental use as well. Check out the medusa pepper below. Often grown for ornament, but also edible. I'm growing habaneros myself. Good looking garden! :)
These peppers plants you put a picture of look really cool. Very aesthetic!
beautiful trees
followed you
Thank you. I followed back.

Esteem is made by @good-karma who is really a great guy and he is about to push out vwrsion 1.8 for android. By the way did you know that cayanne pepper has some very powerful benefits. It helps with the heart and can lower blood pressure. Its also great for blood circulation by removing plaque from the blood stream and it helps in protecting you from cancer and can help you with quite a few health benefits
Yeah you will read a lot about the health "benefits" of a lot of these things. Most of it is just wishful thinking.
Interesting. I am using cayanne pepper to treat my very bad circulation in my legs 3 to 4years now. Could you tell me what part of that is wishful thinking. lol.
There is nothing inherently special about the Cayenne pepper for that function. Capsasin may assist in better blood flow.

As such any hot pepper would achieve a similar result.
You will note I specified some of the purported health benefits are wishful thinking. Not all.
Take that witch doctor! Fuck yeah science!
Lol
beutiful :)
Thanks man :)
oh i love this format . thanks for sharing i'm going to start using esteem too.

Thanks I have followed back
I also want to have Esteem!! I guess it's great to have one
Well...
Beautiful peppers! Your plants look very happy! Keep up the good work! I have been using the esteem app to read posts with a specific tag. It seems to work better on that app. I'll have to try a post from app too!
You should, seemed to work great here!
taste it and taste pepper you buy from store you will see the difference.I wish i had a farm where i can grow my own food.
Oh flavor wise there is no comparison. My peppers taste fantastic, however the serranos are just not very spicy. Even less spicy then a jal
I can't even show off my garden.
It has been invaded by weeds while I've been neglecting it.
Some are taller than me and I'm 6'1.
Let me know how esteem works for you.
I've been reluctant since I saw they take a percentage of rewards.
I've been using it to get mentions on my phone for a while now and it works great. Seemed pretty easy to use as far as making the post. I don't know about their cut of the rewards, someone said 5% which isn't all too bad. Will have to play it by ear. If the images are showing up with a reasonable size then the overall experience I have had today with this is pretty positive.
Nicely done, i couldn't tell any diff with esteem.
Excellent! Thank you for letting me know
WOW! I too love gardening. I have plant many vegetables in my terrace. I am now more inspired by you. Thanks for sharing. Its wonderful
Thanks
Formatting looks nice but your peppers even nicer :) Wish I could give em a try!
Made some salsa with them this past weekend and it was really good. The peppers are still not as spicy as I would like but their flavor is tremendous. I love home grown veggies.
Thanks for the nice comment.
I heard that esteem charges 5% post of the post upvotes is that true?
I've no clue! I will have to watch what happens with this post. Even still, the app is free and has no adds, giving the developer money for his hard work and maintaining an image server (which isn't cheap) seems only fair.
I think it takes a percentage of your winnings/payouts. Not sure how much.
I tried it when i started. Sometimes there would be lots of votes from?app creators sometimes not much. Let us know how you go with it!
I love spicy! I planted the carolina reaper chilli (posted few weeks ago) and its so hooooot!
I will be sure to give more of my thoughts in my next attempt. Ohh yeah, Carolina reaper, those are supposed to be super spicy. I've yet to try one. I've had a ghost pepper though and that was nuts.
Either way if it makes it easier to post, why not! Thats right, super spicy! I love spicy but thought it almost killed me! Nice chillis you have there! Btw i didnt know if so thought i'll share, you can freeze them if you have too much. And still stays amazing after:)
They get soggy
Oh no! Well i have only cooked the frozen ones
Well, that s a good post, I love the format! I will start using esteem too!
Good luck!
Thanks! The app seems easy enough to use for posting. I was only worried about image size, and orientation. It's a bit difficult to tell how things will display on a larger screen off my phone.
Sorry wrong post
needs more bell peppers
They grow best when they have a good amount of space AFIK (they are large). I don't know how well my limited space with the pots would work for them. Perhaps I would get some smaller bell peppers? I would love to grow some nice yellow or orange bell peppers.
They work fine in my homestead and they are pretty crowded. They are just smaller.
It's indeed a great post made on esteem! I have not yet posted from there yet!
You are a foodie too I noticed! Love the pepper plants! Gardening is also my passion, well I have been chef for so long that's why!
Happy to read this post!
@progressivechef
Good food begins with good materials. There are none better than ones we grow ourselves :)
You are absolutely right @justtryme90! It is indeed a great pleasure when you harvest your homegrown food, it's magical!
I love green pictures
Thanks, me too :)
Upvoted and also resteemed!
Thank you!
Looks very similar to the peppers I'm growing in pots.
This is a great post! I love the gardening promotion! And I am psyched you are doing steem meetups in Bean Town. Won't be in town on the 1st, but really hope to make the next one. Keep us posted! Check out my recent gardening vid:
Yeah! Hopefully you will be able to make one of the Meetup in Boston. Will be great o finally chat with some other steemians in person!
Friends, on my blog post about a lot of fruits in the garden aceh.
Would you please visit my blog when you have time to see it, thanks if you can see her, friend
my blog @ades
Okay, sure thing :)
Yep! Chillis are spicier when they're riper. You use them differently in various dishes depending on what flavour you want out of 'em... my plants were all annihilated by the 150+ year record heat wave...sigh
Well the bright side is, there are so many more on the plant, I will have plenty of time to observe as they get spicier!
Great, keep up the great work. I like it, brother. I have try too in my place, but a small. Thank you for sharing.
Yeah it seems like a lot of success can be had with pots! I'm happy with my little garden.
capsicums....You grow only chillis in the garden..they are too hot for my tongue to handle.
@ Justtryme90
It's a lush chilies in garden, definitely well preserved. nice photo....
