Our almond tree is in full bloom. Its been blooming for about a week and a half now. Its such a beautiful sight, only lasts so long before it drops all the petals & starts making almonds.

This one is a Halls Hardy Almond, making it quite unique. Its actually a cross between a almond & a peach. The almonds start out looking like little mini peaches and then the skin shrivels down to the peach like seed. The almonds are very flavorful, they have a bit of sweet amaretto taste in them. 20180319_093346.jpg

Good for you beautiful tree. Will have to look into adding almond trees to our farm if I can find one that grows in zone 5.

This one is supposed to grow in zone 5. I think most almond trees are hardy to zone 5, but they thrive in the warmer part of the year. Ours puts out growth in the heat of the summer. Lol

beautiful! where is this? how long does it take to grow it?

Its growing in TX, zone 8a. Im pretty sure it can be grown in zones 5-7. This one is 6 years old, took quite a few years before it became super productive.

Welcome to steemit! I need to get a few almond trees for my Homestead. I'm in the zone 7B. Looking forward to your future post!

Thanks! Do you have any other fruit trees? I'll try to do somemore posts on the different varieties we have.
