The Tale of The Real Greenhouse - Kind of Part 2 And 3 Because I Was Too Lazy To Post Part 2 Earlier

in #gardening6 years ago

Part 1 was written a long, long time ago.

Some say the Part 1 is just a legend, but I know it's true.

I was there....

But today we continue with Part 2 of the Greenhouse project. It took longer than expected, but it turned out much better too. I was going to write Part 2 earlier but I didn't want this to turn into a trilogy, so just like there were only 2 Terminator movies and second one was better, I'll end this with Terminator 2. I mean, part 2.

In the last part, we managed to put up one piece of the roof. It stayed like that for too long, but still no longer than 4 days.

After a 4 day wait, we finished the greenhouse roof. The only issue was the tree growing in from one of the roof panels, but we survived this by pushing the branches off.

Later we just cut them, as we are brutal people.

Then I did something sexy and stupid.

You guys see this? It's a seal going in a hole.

And this what we see above is something I've also watched on YouPorn.

It's really nice.

Just cut the extra off.

That's what I thought. Remember this part, as it's important.

Ta-da. Now we can secretly peep our neighbors from the window.
This is not the important part though.

I'm kind of trying to run through this as fast as I can.

At this point, our greenhouse was almost ready. Only the door is missing, so it's just a really really fast thing to finish.

That what you'd think.

Then this happened.
I upgraded my PC.

I wrote a post about the Windows 10 activation process too, but for some reason I stopped the work on the greenhouse at this point.

But then, on the 17th day my wife told me "You really should finish the greenhouse".

So I went back to continue. I had to leave my PC all alone in the darkness, just because my wife told me to. But lucky for you, now we can see the part why the earlier stupid and sexy was also stupid.

This is what I found when I was looking for a seal for the door.

...

2 short pieces of seal.

Which should have been used earlier, when I was doing the double headed dildo seal thing and cut off the extra.
Now I have greenhouse door seal which is not enough for the door.

Luckily I'm an engineer and I know that it's not important.

And ta-da. 17.6 was the day when the greenhouse was pretty much finished. Only 2 weeks after we bought the greenhouse.

And as the instructions stated, it usually takes 1/2 days to construct the greenhouse.

Fuck you instructions, fuck you.

What now? Why didn't you write this post almost 2 weeks ago?

Because the greenhouse was still empty and the garden tiles and stones were still scattered on the lawn.

We just happened to be in bad luck and some delays happened in between - like the Midsummer.

These weren't otherwise related to our greenhouse.

This is how it turned out in the end. My wife spent a long day putting the stones and tiles in the way she's happy with.
My ideas weren't acceptable for some reason.

Bah.

Now we have a bunch of happy plants growing in the greenhouse.

Chilis, cucumbers and tomatoes.

Hopefully they'll live a long, happy life.

Greenhouse specs:
Around 3.6 - 3.7 square meters
Super fancy door with a magnet
Plastic panels, wall panels around 1mm and roof panels around 4mm
One ventilation hatch

Sorry to say you have joined the rest of us. We are just fucking useless and never read the instructions. Proud of you to finish though.

HEY!

I did read the instructions. I'm just far too lazy to work.

I'm an engineer, I love good quality instructions. They make life so much better.

I wish I had instructions for life.

Niceeee i need one of those!!

Greenhouses or fabulous Ryzens?

I'd say yes. Also instructions for life, so I could discard them before reading and procrastinate all the same. Thanks for the update, looks smooth and I'm sure the plants will be happy!
