Hello, steemians, and welcome to da garden, eh!
The strawberries are starting to get ripe now in my strawberry patch. I need to start picking them, but I'm going to wait until tomorrow and hope it dries up a bit out there before I start picking. It's been raining a lot here in the past few days and the ground is pretty saturated right now. We got dumped on really good a couple of times and there's still a big puddle in the back yard that hasn't sunk in yet.
Anyway, let's take a look at the strawberries, shall we? This is the edge of the patch by the greenhouse door. You can see the end of my watering pipe that I use to water the patch when it gets dry.
The middle of the patch. You can see a lot of green strawberries also, so I think it's going to be a good year for the strawberries.
Here's a look at the whole patch. The strawberry plants in the pots are there because I had to move them when I set up the space for the container garden. I was going to give them away, but I haven't gotten to that yet.
Now, if the weather will cooperate for a day or 2, I can start picking those lovely little taste treats. I also need to put out some slug traps so they stop making holes in the strawberries when they're almost ripe.
That's all I have for this post, I hope you enjoyed it!
Thanks for stopping by my page and checking out my post, eh!
As always, feel free to leave a comment or a question if you would like.
May the Steem Force be with you!
I think it's great to harvest your crops. Plus, I really envy the fact that it is a very delicious strawberry. Can you give me some, too? @amberyooper :D
Digital strawberries for you. :-)
hahaha !!Thank you for the digital strawberries... !
So many little strawberries! I love your gardening posts, Amber. Great idea on the watering pipes, my sister has those in her garden too. Looking forward to more lovely photos of your garden.
Ivy
Thank you!
That's shaping up to be a great harvest! Fingers crossed the weather cooperates and the slugs get lost.
I'm going to try to drown the slugs with cups of beer. They're attracted to the beer but it kills them. :-)
I've used that method in the past & it works! Good luck!
Thanks! :-)
@amberycooper do you have them in your own garden?? lucky you if so!
i've been picking strawberries last wek and they were so juicy, i could literally taste sun in them.
