I made this drawing of a familiar plant called locally as kalamansi the scientific name of which is Citrofortunella microcarpa. Others call it Calamondin. Very similar to a lime but small and rounder. This citrus fruit is used in food, drinks and even on household cleaning products / bath.

Today I learned about some tips on growing the kalamansi on a pot or container. After watching a video I was inspired to quickly make a speed drawing or doodle.

If you are growing your kalamansi on a container you may take a few tips that I will enumerate below. I'll try to recall as much facts as I can:

  1. The container puts stress on the plant because of the limited space and thus forces it to grow blossoms
  2. The blossoms are white or sometimes purplish
  3. Prune the plant and remove the water shoots so the nutrients could be used by the parts of the plant that need most nourishment
  4. It is ok to let the soil dry out before watering the plants again. This plant does not need regular watering you just leave it
  5. The plant need more sunlight like 6 to 8 hours a day
  6. Do not transfer the plant from one place to another they do not like it
  7. If your plant did not blossom after a few times of bearing fruit maybe the Scion or that piece of mature branch from a host plant had reached it end already.

These are just some of the tips I learned today and would like to share them with you.
