This little wonder lives up to its name creeping across my grass and along any shaded region.
I haven't successfully made an extract from this herb, but eaten fresh is it a slightly bitter lily flavor with a slightly rough texture. The floral scent is more prominent when you cruch the leaf between your fingers.

I stepped into my local farm stand a couple years ago and expected something fun and new to through into my garden. I had tried several styles of lavendar (killed them all), oregano, scarlett sage, and many other varieties of herbs I hadn't seen elsewhere.
When I encountered a young edelweiss plant, I immediately thought of this song.
Long story short... my sister played The sound of music so often I destroyed the VHS tape. She got another for her birthday and I fell in love.
When I think of the song, I never had a scent to go with it, but now I do. Think of the permanance of sage with hints of thyme and rosemary along with some warm scent.
It is bad to smoke, but this herb apparently is good for your lungs.

While I was chatting with the farmer at my favorite farm stand, he brought me and my kids to see a large ox with brownish red fur and horns that were 3-4 feet wide. My son noticed a small plant spreading along the road with leaves that faded from purple to green and had an arome similar to catmint.

The Virginia Creeper has mixed in with my grapes and shows up througout the back and front yard.
Yay! Virginia Creeper! Parthenocissus quinquefolia! My favorite plant to study in Horticulture...I also just loved to say it and impress my friends. Great Art...REALLY nice stuff
What did you learn about this plant?
It is prolific and sticky. The color in fall is orange to scarlet. The tendrils are very strong so if planted near wood siding, those little buggers can creep into the wood cracks. They are very attractive to birds but have insignificant flowers. I loved the speed that they grew but this is also an issue if it takes over and chokes out other plants. They look amazing on a trellis but I prefer putting them as ground cover to help prevent erosion. They like shade and sun. Hope this is helpful.
It is. I need part of my lawn covered.
awesome! Well have fun gardening. Another nice type of ground cover for smaller applications are the succulent plants. They hold tons of water and can handle hot sun. I think wooly thyme is also another one for soft walking surface. Anyways, have a great day!
I haven't heard the name Creeping Charlie in decades! Happy times in the garden.
Yes. I love finding it during walks. Such a neat flavor.
flavor you say? It's edible? Sorry this query is so late but I've been absent.
Your illustrations are so adorable <3
It is a way to obsess over my garden when I am on the road.
Thanks!
Creeping Charlie is the bane of my yard. It will cover anything and everything. I wish I knew how to get rid of the stuff.
