New Year = New Gardens
My favorite time of year is nearly here! I smell spring in the air (ok, it is snowing here, so it might be my imagination) but it makes me want to plant a few thousand seeds. I am doing two small gardens, one for each of my kids, to help give them some responsibility and gratification of having their own garden. We will see what a two and four-year-old can do soon enough!
Aside from the small family garden (which expands every year) and the two small ones for the kids, I also have expanded my tomato area by twice the size. I can do about 200+ tomato plants in those areas this year, but I think I will try to match and beat my yield from last year with fewer plants. I like a challenge. And for those of you who might not have followed me since last season - I am a small-scale tomato farmer.
What does @grow-pro grow?
I won't bore you with a full list, but to give you an idea of some things I love to grow, I will list below!
• TOMATOES (My specialty & main focus)
• Broccoli
• Beans
• Peas
• Cucumbers
• Pumpkins
• Watermelon
• Corn
• Basil / many varieties (one of my favorite multi-purpose plants)
• Other Herbs - rosemary, lavender, oregano chamomile, +++
• Trees (I propagate and raise a few varieties of trees)
• Blackberries
And a bunch of other stuff that we can get into later. The main purpose of this post is to inform those of you that are interested in growing that I am here and this is what I do. We can grow together!
I wanted to have the next part of my series out by this week, but I am struggling to find content creators to feature. You can find the latest update on the Growing Money In Your Yard Series parts in the discord by clicking the image to the right ➜➤➤➤
I will have to publish it in the coming weeks, but I really want to offer an opportunity to synergize and help content creators jump into this series. However, I must publish the remaining parts in a reasonable timeframe. I look forward to chatting in the discord and hopefully organizing to enhance this series and make it what I feel it can become.
Labor of Love
I will continue on my path and encourage all who might be interested to join me. I hope to feature more Steemit-based content and acknowledge more gardeners realizing profits from their garden. It is a greatly rewarding hobby and one that can feed people AND turn a profit. I will show you creative ways I get to do what I love, help a lot of people, and help feed my community - at almost ZERO cost to me (only effort/labor). It's a labor of love.

This post reminded so much of the place I grew up and my parents' garden... Vegetables of all kinds and flowers, how beautiful and colourful they were... City life has brought me so far away from that idyllic life, it makes me sad and I dream about the day I will be able to go back to my roots
I had a similar experience growing up with ducks and space to roam and then from that to a very urban environment. I lost touch for quite a while, but life circled back two years ago and we went from no space to open space. I made it a point to try my best to utilize the space because I had ached for this for so long - now that I have it I treasure it more. You'll get there, my friend! Life has a funny way of bringing us back to where we need to be. I want my kids to know and care for their environment and show them that a little work can do a lot of good.
Thanks for dropping by @svkrulze ✌️😎
