Previously, I posted about height.
I forgot to mention something critical.
Photoperiod
The above plant has the 'photoperiodic' trait.
It means it starts flowering (generative stage), when the nights are longer than the day (strain dependent this can be earlier, but not by much).
Or in other words: as long as the days are noticeably longer than the nights, a photoperiodic plant will keep growing taller.
I grow on a balcony and would have a hard time limiting lights.
This means, this flower above starts flowering later in the year.
Latest around the 20th of September, since then the days are exactly as long as the nights (equinox).
This is, why I planted late.
I don't remember the exact date, but it was mid may. (That's where a grow diary could really help)
Considering this plant was severely stunted during its seedling stage, I think I planted too early, still.
Next time, I'd plant in June.
Worst case, this plant will grow for another 8 weeks.
Right now, it's growing strong and visibly gets bigger by the day.
Once it starts flowering, it can 'stretch' by a good amount, too.
That is strain dependent, but I have no idea what the above thing is.
Here, you can see an older plant, grown under somewhat similar conditions. That would be way to large for my balcony.
I want to avoid that at all cost, but still allow the plant to somewhat express itself.
It's a balancing act...
Automatic
There are automatic seeds out there, which kind of ignore the photoperiod.
I planted 2 of those, too, the other day.
I think I will have to stick to autos, for reasons, which I'll debate next post. (rhyme)
PS
I'll not post in a community, because from my experience, I get fewer votes that way.
I'll stick to the tags below, for now.
Yes, it good to allow a plant to grow and express itself, the way it's grows is likely it nature.
growing so good 😀👍
Grows like a weed, eh? 😁
Hope you planted one more in the June month 😀
