When FFVXV was first announced back in 2006 I was very excited because I felt like a dark character with a lot of mystery similar to Squall Leonhart was needed in the franchise. Years went by and we got no release date for the game back when it was announced for the PS3, actually the whole reason I brought a PS3 was simply to purchase FFVXV however I was left disappointed and instead ended up purchasing and completing FFXIII. When the release date of FFXV finally got announced for the PS4 in 2016 around 10 years later, I was very excited and could not wait to get my hands on to discover this new world of adventure. Square Enix even released FFXV: Kingsglaive & Brotherhood to the fans which only made us anticipate the game more. Days felt like months as the release date approached, and just when we were like a month away we received an announcement stating the game was due for another delay. This was another disappointment for all fans of the series however we firmed it and waited the extra month for the final copy.
When the final copy of the game came out, we had a lot of lore from the movie & the anime series which they released prior however most fans of the series felt like there were many cutscenes and story missing from the game. The game's gameplay was unique and kept us on our feet despite the occasional glitches. However all the Final Fantasy previous had in depth story lore without all the extras (DVD & Series) we questioned why this game lacked the meat. Square Enix had a plan to capitalise from their core audience selling us extra DLC which included more of the game's story and a lot of fans felt let down because the series till it's latest release always was a complete product which we could always come back to for that nostalgic feeling. As a fan of the series I enjoyed the game overall but had more questions then answers after completing the main game. Square Enix also announced that they will be releasing a multiplayer expansion where we could tag along with our friends on an adventure in the world of Eos, this was something we never heard of before and a lot of fans became excited. After watching the beta gameplay for the multiplayer expansion, again many fans where left disappointed with the gameplay lacking meat & content. It felt like an empty world with your friends and a bunch of monsters to fight with no context to why we were fighting them. On November 7th after it was delayed from October 31st the multiplayer DLC will be released and although a year later many fans are excited to get their hands on the final version. Shortly after that DLC we will get the final episode of the brothers which is called Episode Ignis and many questions arise on how the gameplay will pan out. Overall as a Final Fantasy fan boy I enjoyed FFXV's uncovering of each character's motivation and look forward to all the content they release in the future. I just only wish the story as a whole gets put in there so we do not have any missing elements like when the game first came out.
