With my decision to start streaming this fall from want to provide value to my Steemit page and my desire to share a part of my life that is dear to me. Along with some of the shared experiences and people that I meet because of it. If you read in my previous post about how I wanted to start steaming, I was in the process of deciding which platform I wanted to use to accomplish this. My choices were between Twitch, Mixer (Beam) and YouTube Gaming. Something that I didn’t mention in that post was that I already had both a Twitch and YouTube account. The Twitch one wasn’t connected to the Twitch app on my Xbox because I signed up a long time ago and before the Xbox could do game capture. The YouTube was out of impulse when YouTube was gaining popularity.
Update:
Trying out the Twitch app for streaming, I found it to be fairly easy. I connected my account through the app and got a little more familiar with the interface and settings. It’s not hard to archive my videos and save them to my computer. The issue that I was having was thinking of a way to post them on Steemit for the easiest way of viewing. I could post a link to the video on my Twitch page but you would have to leave the post page and possibly try and watch long videos. I am pretty positive that I will end up doing edited videos with links to the full stream. Since YouTube videos play directly in the post I think that way will work out the best. This means streaming videos to my Twitch page and uploading the archived video to my YouTube page and posting a link to that and mentioning the link to the full stream.
I was thinking of using a software like, OBS (Open-source Broadcasting Software) but I quickly found out the only way to go that route would require me to purchase another monitor since I would need to stream a screen capture and wouldn’t be able to monitor the health of the stream. There would even be a chance that I could get caught up in the game and not realize that the stream stopped due network issues. That is another reason I am almost certain I will do it that way.
The other option I was considering was to use Mixer. Its ability to stream from my Xbox is easy and directly on my Xbox’s menu interface. I do like that! When it comes to the website and quality of the video, it still feels laggy and poor. First impressions were subpar but I still want to try a few more times so I can make sure I give it a fair chance. Who knows? Maybe they will update it and things will change as quickly as the name did. I will keep messing around with all of them and use the best most efficient way for me to bring my content and experiences here to share. Along with my insights and perspective.
Here is a little video of one of my first streams that I was able to edit using YouTube.
Here is the link to the full stream.
Until next time, thank you for your attention, UpVote, Follow and Comment!
whotiewho (n0_MSG), out!
destiny 2 in next week... ♥ i love this game since it was released in 2013 .
But i think i do a mistake when i buy it on console... :/
Especially now that it's on the PC, it would be really fun to play. I do much better at FPS when they are mouse and key but I think that's most people. The Beta is next week if you pre-ordered it. The game is not set to release until September 6th.
Like the Stream. One thing I have noticed is your very quite, don't say much.
All the popular twitch stream have the host continuously talking to engage there audience.
Destiny 2 beta out next week, can't wait - but have to, lol
Thank you for the insight. Yeah, it's one of the things that I really need to work on and partly why I wanted to even start streaming. I'm a bit of a quiet person IRL unless I'm around some lively people. I thought about trying to continuously think out loud during my streams and see if that helps. The worst part will be the month of waiting for the full release after the beta ends.
Not looking forward to that part too. There is always the Game Destiny was cloned from. We play that a lot when destiny gets a little slow. Its free.

Ive tried it. It was hard for me to get in to. The concept and gameplay were good but something about the game mechanics just turned me off.
