Should I care about Star Citizen?

in #gaming7 years ago

As a freshly aged thirty year old person who tends to really like video games, I've been burned once or maybe a hundred times by games promising to be the best thing ever. I don't really have to list the let downs here, but lets just say that what No Mans Sky promised to be was basically what I've always wanted in a game. An infinite universe where you can live out your dreams of being a bounty hunter/explorer has been a dream of mine since I saw Boba wrangle Mr. Solo up when I was a kid.

ALL THIS TO SAY....

Could Star Citizen be the perfect game? I don't want to be hurt again, I really don't. Could someone convince me that Star Citizen might actually come through on all the promises the development team are making? With 3.0 right around the corner, I'm very close to pulling the trigger on buying in.

It's sad that there are many game devs that offer promises and realize mid-way that they can't fulfill them... what they do afterward can make the thing better... but the disappointment is still there!!

But can we do something about it?
