Ah E3, the gaming world's version of Christmas. E3 is the one time of the year where all the largest gaming company’s, publishers, and so on, compete in the worlds largest pissing contest that even R. Kelly himself would be jealous. Now I don’t know about you guys, but everyone over here at theGspot is actually excited for golden shower of new games that are coming.
The Coincidental Slap In The Face
Despite E3 being more than a week ago, the one game that stole our hearts was Beyond Good and Evil 2. Now, if you don’t know what the Beyond Good and Evil series is well….what rock have you been living under? Below I’ll at least provide a wiki for you to caught up. Now despite all the excitement, one point that we keep seeing brought up everywhere about this game, goes along something like this: “Psssh this looks like another No Man’s Sky.” Now initially to anyone who said something like that, my biased would show and I would be like “BOI!” But after giving some thought, I could understand where others are coming from. Two days ago, the dev team provided in-engine gameplay and while I was more excited than a pre-teen discovering his first erection, I would somewhat see (while very faint) the writing on the figurative wall:
Large Expansive Worlds ✓
You Fly From Planet To Planet ✓
The Promise Of Worlds Full Of Things To Do ✓
Random Events That Effect The Game ✓
Let's Just Wait And See
Now, despite the failed past promises of No Man’s Sky, and Beyond Good and Evil’s similar promises to deliver a product somewhat comparable in scale, it could put people off, especially when where dealing with an (grits teeth) Ubisoft title. Despite all of this I still believe that Beyond Good and Evil has potential. The team behind the game in my opinion, are passionate about their project and are still a ways away from creating a final completed product. That and I just want another Beyond Good Evil game, it’s been 13 years for god’s sake!
Leave your comment below, I’m curious on what others think.
