After EAs crash at the Wallstreet due to the Battlefront 2 release & the massive shitstorm they got for gambling/microtransactions in their games, a user named "John Hunt" started a petition aimed at Lucasfilms, to revoke EA their Star Wars license.
After only three weeks the petition reached nearly 100k signatures and is still growing. This all could be a massive hit at the gaming industry, maybe more game publisher will think about futher microtransactions in their games.
Hopefully we will see more games without massive costs after purchasing a full priced game. I hope this rumor will turn the sails of the gaming industry.
TL;DR (EA Battlefront pay2win scandal):
"Basically they've keyed the progression for the classes to micro-transactions and lootboxes. The system implements power-up cards for classes, more cards you have - higher level your class is. Essentially this means that game becomes pretty much pay-to-win, since the power-up cards come from the loot boxes. "
Now my mainly ask questions are:
What do you think will be the respond from Lucasfilms?
Could it be possible that we will see good games with the Star Wars frenchise in the future?
When will players realize huge publisher like EA are publishing year for year the same games, with a lil face lifts & generating huge income with it?
