How i could possibly game for crypto!

in #gaming7 years ago (edited)

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds  was a very surprising hit PC game this year. Having sold over 7 million copies, frequently topping the steam stats as the most played game on steam and is the most successful early access title yet.

Among the free for all battle of 100 people fighting to survive in an intense battle royale setting, you can earn game rewards in the form of loot crates that contain various clothing, mask and utility skins. Through playing the game and earning battle points you begin to amass quite a wardrobe of items and unopened crates. The interesting part is just how expensive some of these items sell for on the market!

I have played just over 240 hours of PUBG (PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds) and blown a lot of my in game loot the organic way just trying my luck for some cool skins. That was until the game had its first large event and noticed a pattern of exclusive items growing in value on the steam market once the event has ended and the skins are no longer available in game.

An example of this type of inflation was a Twitch Prime promotion where if you held a Twitch Prime membership ($12.99 p/m with 1 month trial)  in June 2017 you received a Twitch Prime set which at the time this blog was posted could get you $131.00 on the steam market.

But the REAL question is how do i turn this into bitcoin?

That is where some 3rd party markets (like opskins.com) have an answer, that may be the future of the in game market! Usually if you white list yourself on a market website with an ID check (fraud security) it will enable them cash out sales into your paypal account or a even into your bitcoin wallet. That means as you earn in game items and loot box's that can trade between steam players, you will start to see more third party market's where you could potentially earn cryptocurrency from playing competitive games online.

I am interested to see what kind of potential this has and over time i will continue to blog about my experiences converting some of my many lost hours gaming into cryptocurrency.

What do you guys think?

Should there be potential to earn from playing video games?

Would you be interested in a gaming crypto market?
