More Info About MMG and Events in 2018
In an effort to keep these events free, we've implemented a "sub" type of payment process (if you're familiar with Twitch.tv), but players only have to upvote MMG's event post, here on Steemit, in order to compete and receive a prize.
Players that do not create a Steemit account and upvote this post after having played in 3 free events with MMG in 2018, will be put on PROBATION. This means, unless the player creates a Steemit account (registers and shows proof) that day, or send MMG a donation of any amount via paypal, they will forfeit half of their prize earnings. Players will be put on probation for a maximum of 2 events. After the second event of probation, a player must either upvote this post or make a donation of any amount. Failure to do the previous steps will result in a player being unable to compete.
As we continue to gain traction on Steemit, we will continue to increase the prize pool of events, here at MMG. Our goal is to be able to host $100 weekly Tournaments in 2019. We believe this goal to be achievable with our community joining the Steemit to help support this goal, and our tireless efforts to learn and do all that we can to make this a reality.
What to Expect During MMG Events
The event itself typically runs 2.5-3 hours from start to finish (grand finals). The bracket is likely to reach 32 total signups by 7:30pm, with a few players using the !sub command to request to substitute for a previously registered player that does not show up for checkin.
The event will start and we'll find a match to host on stream while other competitors will use the !bracket command to find their opponents. There will be about a 50/50 mix of new and old competitors to the MMG scene. The Twitch.tv name of the opponent and nnid can be found in the bracket, making it easy for players to find one another and begin their best of 3 match-up.
After finishing a match, players report their match results, using the command !mr.
By the time the first match takes place, the chat room will be filled with conversation and light heckling, and our viewership should be somewhere in the 40-50 viewer range, not bad, for Twitch.
I can't believe this has been here for so long
Recently just wrote a piece on Smash and how the community has been built in India.
I'll be sure to check your Discord for more and maybe try to bring in a few people.
Although, I'm wondering if we from India can play with you guys, the ping is just going to be ass.
Lan adapters are the key to success. Cost about $6 on amazon. aka about 1.3 SBD xD
Would love to host you guys, and here more about the scene in India :)
Omg I can't wait to write my next piece on it, we also have a tournament here coming up on the 24th SO STAY TUNED!
