The Battle Under My Arse

in #gaming3 years ago

I wanted to bring up this topic. It is something I care about and only when things go wrong. I spend an exorbatant time sitting on a chair in front of the computer. I am not by any means an expert on this subject. I have however, been through so many chairs now, I feel I have a grip on the market in the US for computer chairs.

It is a battle! I have been down the $160 chair road and it is not pretty. They are made of crap and fall apart in sometimes six months. At my place of work I am set to a $200 limit. Same deal these chairs are horrible and I feel bad just sitting in them day to day. You wear them down and you end up sitting on a peice of wood. Circulation gets cut off in your legs and it starts to not hold you up anymore on the lean back.

At home I went through chairs like no one I know. Break them throw them out run to the nearest home depot or office depot and get another. This went on until I bit the bullet and ordered one of those gamer racing chairs built for a big man and costing around $600. This one lasted and the foam actually held up. Now I am dealing with the external pleather peeling off of it. Maybe it is leather but I doubt it. Still arguably worth money. DXRacer was my brand name and I am still sitting on it.

At work I finally found a solution. I am six foot three inches and about two hundred and fifty pounds. I convinced my work place to exceed their limit for me (back problems, not really but it worked). I went for a big man's chair. I mean a REALLY big man's chair. They come wider in the seat but are rated for 500 pounds and seven years of wear and tear. The one thing I noticed was steel frames on the legs and the arms. It is something everyone should look for. When a chair has to be steel framed to handle the weight of a larger person it will last longer for them and really anyone else. Again, it worked and it lasts and now it is peeling. Pleather again most likely.

So I am happy but I am always looking for that next best thing and really the reason I wanted to post up. I am excited to see BMW is taking gaming chairs seriously and they have put out what I think may just be the solution to my problem. Think about it. Car manufacturers know how to build chairs that last. Check it out!

Here is the article that inspired me to write about my chair battles:

oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!!

i JUST took everything out of my downstairs room (that is now my office. and don't ask me why I'm still sitting on my bed right now when the main purpose was to help my posture!!!) and created an office.

And my hubby has 2 nice office chairs.

He told me i could have whatever one i wanted - because he isn't using either (he took his from his former executive job that they paid $1000 for! he took it with their permission haahah)

I got one that was nearby (though the nicer one is in the shed and it was dark - so i told him not to get it then hahaha)

and it's a nice chair - decent chair! i haven't tried it out for the whole day yet - cuz... you know.. i'm still sitting on my bed like an idiot hahahaha.. but I was talking to @kenechukwu97 about getting some more comfy chairs too.

cuz he just made a home office too... and then i saw these things on Amazon.

I won't drop the link hahaha but i thought.. WHY get the whole expensive chair... when you can just ADD something TO your currently existing chair to make it amazing!!!!!

SO... I'M THINKING THINKING THINKING about just buying them to try it out.

then again... i probably should try out the two chairs that i have now WITHOUT adding any extra expense hahahahaha

but isn't it weird when all of us are doing the same thing at the same time??!?

or is it happening all the time, and we just notice it cuz we're blogging about it?!?! hahahahaha

You've got alot of options so, go go go. Try them and pick the best. Heheh.

I'm sure that after the whole Hivefest hangover, you will give your bed a break and start spending more time in your new office. heheh

Wear sunglasses toooo. You will look like a new employee in a commercial bank 😂😂

$600 for a chair?

Hahaah... Now I can't even mention the amount I paid for the chair that is currently burning my butt and sending my back to early ageing 😂😂😂.

I went to the linked up article and that really seems to be a good innovative move. Comfort is very important for those that do their stuff while spending hours on sit.

I have to buy a chair too and it's so difficult to figure out which one to get, I've had some that killed my back.
