The legendary Czech point'n'click game “In the Raven Shadow” is now available on Steam

It has taken 18 years for the famous Czech point’n’click adventure game In the Raven Shadow (original Ve stínu havrana) to appear in the library of the worlds largest game marketplace. You can now try out how a typical Czech game look during the 90ties for less then 4 USD

If I will say that every single gamer in the Czech republic does know this game, I‘m not exaggerating. Throughout the years, this game has appeared as a free game with almost every single gaming magazine ever produced here.

Similarly to most of the point‘n‘click adventure games of it‘s time did the „Raven“ try to appeal with different things then being a good game. The reason why many gamers loved this was the simple fact that the game was released in Czech language (and with great dabing by Czech actor Jiří Lábus). What can‘t be missing is humor with very fluctuating quality and lots of puzzles that can be solved only by trying to combine every single item because of the amounts of moon logic ( HERE you can find the definition of moon logic )

In this game we follow the journey of the monk Severing to find the meaning of life. The game has horrendous graphics. The only positive thing that can be said about the graphics is that time didn‘t make it much worse. Funny enough, if we také a look at some of the current retro indie games, it does look pretty similar.

What I cannot deny is that the game is actually fun to play. These clasic point‘n‘click games aren‘t as common these days and if you are a fan of the genre, this isn‘t the words game you could choose to play.
