Need for Speed Payback REVEALED!

in #gaming7 years ago

Hello Steemers!

It's FINALLY here! The new Need for Speed has finally been revealed under the name Need for Speed Payback! Before I go into more details have a look at the trailer:

I'm gonna start of by saying that Need for Speed is one of my favorite franchises. I can remember the countless hours playing Underground 2, Most Wanted and Carbon as a kid. However most of us know that in the more recent years, EA has given us some games that were very different from the most popular Need for Speed formula. Some of them were well received like the Shift series but others were straight up TERRIBLE (I'm looking at you Most Wanted 2012)! The last installment absolutely nailed the car customization but suffered almost everywhere else.

However, I think that the next game in the franchise has the potential to bring back the Need for Speed name back to its former glory.

The RTR Mustang is back, hopefully confirming the return of other body kits such as Liberty Walk and Rocket Bunny. In my opinion, customization is THE most important part of a Need for Speed game, that's where Hot Pursuit fell on its face.
But body kits are not where the customization ends!

Drag racing is back and it looks like we can create proper drag builds. Also, WHEELIES! Something I miss from ProStreet.
Offroading will be part of the game and the mods look similar to Raid cars from The Crew, which is awesome. Hopefully this old Chevy is hinting towards some classic builds as well, or maybe hot rods.

Customizing is fun, but sometimes we just want to drive pieces of art. Hypercars are making a comeback as we can see with the Koenigsegg Regera and Pagani Huayra BC. I'd really like to see some others like the Lamborghini Centenario, Bugatti Chiron or the Rimac Concept One. Either way, we'll get to drive some very exclusive cars.

And finally, we've got some real Fast and Furious stuff going on! The game is going to be story driven which is great. This story seems like it's going to be centered around heists on the road with a crew, similar to F&F. That hopefully means the gameplay will be varied with some stunts and "jobs". Something useful to keep the game fresh.

So far so good. I'm looking forward to the release in November. Let's all hope EA and the devs don't mess it up!

Thanks for reading! Let me now what you think in the comments!
