Wow was the rabbit hole I fell down. It was just known as crack and was where I spent most of my time my junior and senior year in college.
Never to the point where it effected my grades but was full clearing some of the raids shortly after they came about.
What killed the love of the game for me was my guild fell apart and never really clicked with anyone else. Just wasn't the same for me anymore and it lost a lot of its luster after that.
Raids.. don't get me started.. my first ever was a PUG Fear raid.., you can imagine how that went! Many hours of my life wasted, this was before audio conferences.. it was mayhem!
