What's up guys, I'm ggteixeira, just your average old gamer who enjoys both reading and posting content on Steemit. Today, I've decided to tell the story of a recent multiplayer battle I took part in within the game Mount & Blade: Napoleonic Wars.
Before we get started;
I'd like to go ahead and give a quick description of the game Mount & Blade: Napoleonic Wars. Napoleonic Wars is one of the many installments within the Mount & Blade franchise, being set in the obvious Napoleonic era, an era where the 'gentlemen's' warfare tore through most of Europe. The game takes place in an awkward yet fun time period where firearms began to become a common use in military warfare even though close-quarters combat was still a very frequent part of almost every battle.
Now, let's get right into the action with the matches countdown over and the initial charge beginning!
I had just spawned in as my personal favorite class, the rifleman, a class kitted with an accurate rifle accompanied by a short-sword sidearm. My team, the British, began surging forth towards the enemy team's position, the Russian fort. All around me I heard the sounds of men yelling, firearms cackling, and most predominantly bagpipes blaring out loud. I couldn't help but laugh as I rushed forth to the nearby cover of a tree as a handful of bagpipe players marched forth playing out in sync this simple tune:
Once I made it to a lone tree just outside the fort's walls, I crouched and raised my rifle peaking the corner to take aim only to witness a misfortunate scene for one of my teammates. A rogue cannonball fired from one of the fort's cannons had make direct contact instantly killing a single man.
After seeing such a gruesome act, I had made the decision that my small tree was no longer viable cover and with a platoon of my team rushed off to the right across a narrow bridge as bullets zoomed past me, barely missing their mark.
Once across the bridge, I continued down a short path towards the enemy fort's rear-gate which was recently destroyed by a nearby explosion seemingly coming from the inside, taking with it a handful of my British allies.
Swiftly crossing a shallow stream and hugging the fort's walls, I had spotted an enemy head pop just into sight. Without a second thought, I raised my rifle, took aim, and fired securing my first kill of the match as the man's body fell backwards into the fort.
After taking the shot, I had paused for a few seconds to reload my rifle before rushing inside the rear gate to a courtyard loitered with both Russian and British bodies.
Following some of my teammates, I had maneuvered to my right into a small alley where a door was kicked down and on the other side enemy soldiers were spotted loading their rifles. Myself and nearby teammates quickly raised our arms taking out the opposition before they had any time to notice what had hit them.
As I reloaded my weapon on the other side of the broken-down door I had noticed a flight of stairs leading to a nearby tower. I quickly dashed towards the stairs then up them ducking nearby bullets as they ricocheted all around me.
Once I had reached the top I glanced over the edge to notice a bunch of exposed enemy soldiers standing along a lower wall. I raised my rifle, fired, crouched, reloaded, and repeated this a few times killing a handful of enemy troops.
After a sufficient amount shooting, I moved back down the stairs to be met by a single drummer who urged me forth towards the fighting ahead. The point needed to be captured and the clock was ticking.
I rushed forth looking over to the side only to see complete chaos unfolding within the inner-courtyard. Bodies were everywhere, guns were firing, and an endless supply of British charged forth to their deaths as we desperately tried to reach the capture-point.
I quickly jumped to a closer wall, peaked the corner, and fired into a window taking down an enemy rifleman I had noticed glancing out a shack's window.
I looked up at the timer and was shocked to notice there was only two minutes left to capture the point and my team still had a ways to go before getting to it. I glanced about the floor's rubble replacing my rifle with a bayoneted musket knowing what needed to be done.
Preparing myself, I rushed down the middle of the inner-courtyard firing aimlessly into a window before bayoneting a nearby enemy. Not soon after a bullet ripped through my chest, dropping me to my knees, and after that, losing my team the game.

Conclusion:
I'd like to as always thank everyone for reading and hope you all enjoyed the read. If you have anything to say feel free to reply below and as always, I hope you all have a wonderful day!
Great post man ! I spent a lot of days playing Mount & Blade and it surely is a brilliant game. It is a shame that i never played it on multiplayer. What do you think, does this increase the experience or there are bugs and flaws that people exploit ?
In my opinion it adds a whole new kind of experience to the game that I'm certain you've never felt before if you've only played single-player. Fighting and playing with players is definitely a fun twist on the game I strongly suggest you try, though it might seem difficult at first because trust me, some of these are really good.
