Latest Patch Unlocks All Heroes In Star Wars Battlefront 2

EA has announced that the latest Star Wars Battlefront 2 patch will unlock all currently available Heroes and Hero Ships for all players.

In a forum post by community manager, Mat 'Sledgehammer70' Everett, it was revealed that the latest update, which plans to overhaul the progression system, will also grant players the ability to play as all their favourite characters without having to grind for hundreds of hours. "Along with these changes, we've also unlocked all currently available Heroes and Hero Ships for everyone," Everett said. "With all characters now having a Unit Level, we don't want to limit anyone's chance to progress as we change the way you interact with these characters."

Unlocking characters wasn't the only news within this post. Everett also announced that a new location will be added to Star Wars Battlefront 2. Bespin will returning to the Battlefront series for Blast, Heroes vs. Villains, Arcade, and for a limited time, Jetpack Cargo.

The final piece of information is in regards to the controversial Star Cards and weapons. The forum post revealed that EA will be unlocking all Star Cards and Weapons in Arcade at Epic card level, "so that Arcade can be more freely used as a sandbox to try out new combinations," Everett stated. "This change also provides more gameplay options for players who aren't interested in playing Multiplayer."

It seems that EA is trying very hard to remedy all the mistakes they made with Star Wars Battlefront 2 and win back the gaming community. Whether this will actually result in an increased player base, or if the damage is already done, is yet to be determined.
