It is true. OK. I will have to explain that title. Ha ha.
Yesterday, (Thursday), was a "no trade" day. Pat and I had an appointment with someone in the "Queen City".
At least that is what is Cincinnati has been referred to for all of my life. Which is long. lol

So after the appointment was completed. You know the outcome. Belterra isn't that far away from Cincinnati.
So, she had made reservations for the night. That is OK with me. But it has been taking away my trading time.
Now that I don't like. Oh, well. I will have to adjust. When we are married. The daily plan isn't one sided. Ha

(Belterra-what I call the cornfield casino)

We did our usual. Very good eating. Room is excellent. I don't gamble. You know the drill.
Oh, I did lose $2.50 this trip. That cuts my winning edge down to $47.50. Ugh
The dollar apple is being sliced and that is the wrong way. I don't like that. It had been $65 dollars before the slide.

I have been taking my Steemit computer with me to the casino. But, I had never loaded the trading platform into it.
Until................
Today, starting a 4:30 am. I began the process of the download and all the indicators that I need on the charts.
I will show you one of the setups that I had to make this morning.

Since the market is closed.
I will show my actual trading chart that I use from Daniels Trading and the CFRN indicator set that I use.
It took some time . I was working from memory. And at my age. That can raise some questions. Ha
I didn't have any account numbers or passwords to complete the download.
Not to mention the actual setup of the indicator sets. But, we prevailed friends.

Here is the actual chart that I use to determine the trades that I make. I have modified them some to suit my objectives.

The yellow arrows show my entry and exit points. The left arrow is the buy entry and the right arrow is the sell exit.

I was up against the clock as I was trying to complete the trade. I needed to vacate the room at 11:00 am.
Sometimes it can take hours to complete the trade. So I took one point in the ES trade. With one contract.
That is $50 dollars. The commission costs detracts $5.82 dollars. Leaving $44.18

I was dancing friends. Just kidding.
I was pleased with my work though. Future trips could be more enjoyable. I am a futures trader. Not a gambler.

Here is the "Trading DOM" I use to complete all my trades. It shows today's result near the top right hand side.
unnamed.png

And "Completed Orders" You can see the times of entry and exit.
That is why I show it.

You can see all the "cancelled orders." That is where I was testing my new setup on the Steemit computer.

I wanted to show this to you to show you how I think in my daily life. I am always trying to find a way.
To do what I should do or want to do.
You can do the same. Don't let temporary problems overcome your goals either.

OOPs. Bad news. We are scheduled to return next week. I was so excited about losing $2.50 dollars. I wanted to go back.
Sorry. That is false. I think that Pat may have added some green numbers to her dollar tree.

So, I am glad I downloaded my trading platform. I now have an option anyway.

Thank you for viewing and reading my post.
Together we can take Steemit to the top of social media.

Sort:

Francis! I am commenting within the first 30 minutes. Yay! I never get to see your material so quickly. That's like winning a jackpot in my eyes.
I think I'm starting to get this now. Basically you made $44.18 in 30 minutes and if we take your small donation to the cornfield out of the equation, approximately $41 in the black.
How am I doing?

@rebeccaryan
Add one more over the top qualifications about you. You are a mathematician too. Ha

I love going to the casino. I just don't like the time that it keeps me away from my trading.
Did I solve the problem? Hmmm
Check back later. lol
Thank you for remembering the "cornfield casino gambler."
I now have many names. Just use one that comes to mind.

Oh, I was wondering why the markets didn't move much today.
It could be because of this?
Please note that our office is closed on Thursday and Friday due to the Holiday of Rosh Hashanah
The Next Update is scheduled for Monday, September 25, 2017. (Charles Nenner)

I watch the movement and range closely. It gives me some advantage to know.

Does each completed trade always pay-out the same gross $50 or, is this a percentage of the amount you sell at ?
More importantly, did Pat get to buy new shoes?
Please say hello to her from us in the North. ;)

One point in the "ES" market equals $50 dollars.
(And you can stay in your trade as long as you want to add more points to the trade.)
That is also (4 ticks).
Each tick of movement is $12.50
So 4 ticks in the "ES" equals $50 dollars. 12.50 x 4 = $50 dollars.
My target for the day would normally be (8 ticks) or $100 dollars.
Take out of that commission of course.

Each market or futures trade is a contract. Contracts vary among the various markets.
For now. I trade one contract. Later. When I get more confidence. I will trade two, three or maybe more at a time.
That is where the dollar account value goes up if you get the trade right.
If wrong.
The same negative account balance shows. Ugh on that. Ha

No shoes this trip. She was a happy person though. Some green always helps.
But just being victorious get us happy. lol

Thank you for the greetings for her. I will surely tell her.

Francis

don't understand your trades. but when @rebeccaryan asks questions your answers are helpful for us trying to figure out the "puzzle." thanks for sharing. I have no doubt that some of your followers may choose to "dabble" in the future trading some day in the not so far future.

I haven't "traded" as much as a pocket knife in years. Good to see that you are on the plus side with your "trades:".

@pastorike
It takes a lot of time and money. Everyone needs to know that.

Francis

Very good Francis, a pleasure to always follow your posts!!!

Thanks for sharing. I can't say I understand any of this really other than posting blogs and commenting and upvoting, but I will learn:)

@bluesbro
You can take your time. I haven't learned it all yet either. But, after a few months now.
It is getting easier.
Thank you for your upvote. I appreciate it.

Francis

Thanks, a little each day:)

I'm in the same boat as @bluesbro. Still trying to understand....thanks for the entertaining story, tho.

@violacasey
Have this thought in mind always. It is one that I try to live by.
I will never give up on Steemit. It has taken me a lot of time to get to where I am now.
Many have helped me.
But, none has helped me more that @rebeccaryan and @knarly327
You will want to follow them They are among the very best on Steemit.
