Elex is a post-apocalyptic fantasy RPG that was announced more than a year ago. It is being developed by Piranha Bytes, who have also developed the Risen and Gothic games. Most people compare Elex to Risen, calling it "Risen with jetpacks". Oddly enough, it's a game where the mechanical things meet magic.
From what is currently known, there are five different regions in the game world, which you can access from the very beginning since it's an open-world RPG. There are no restrictions - you choose your own allies and your own enemies, and only the creatures that roam the world will get in your way.
Elex offers a huge variety of different weapons known to RPG history. From daggers and axes to shotguns or even flamethrowers. Everything is based on the player's preference and playstyle.
There is no regular class type in Elex. You have gather reputation to earn the trust of teachers which you can learn different skills from. The game encourages you to find allies to help you through your journey, as it can be difficult alone. There's also the ability to create or join factions. It is solely based on you how you decide to shape your experience, whether it's forming alliances or making foes. The game develops based on your way of thinking.
If you liked Risen or Gothic, you should definitely keep an eye out for Elex in my opinion. The release of this game is announced to be October 17th , 2017.

Any ideas on type of gameplay yet? I like sandbox the best and open world where the things you do actually shape the game, prices etc.
Hmm this looks quite cool. I think it borrows a bit from Halo and Star craft as far as the art goes. I'll want to see a gameplay preview.
You can check out some early gameplays on Youtube. It might paint a clearer picture. Keep in mind that it's still under development!
Thanks for the heads up! I'll have a look now.
No problem! I'm loving the graphics so far. Not paying much attention to some of the funky animations as there is still some time for improvement.
Hmm it does look good. Kinda like Fallout meets ESO.
Lots of things we could compare it to. Will be easier to judge it once we are able to get our hands on it :)
I'm mostly on DCS or modded Skyrim. I do play a few other games too.
