NBC made a video titled "How Gamers Are Facilitating The Rise Of The Alt-Right" accusing gamers of being racist and sexist, They brought up Discord and Gamergate, anything they possibly could. Fact is NBC made a hit piece that failed miserably and they should be showcased for the fools they are. And this isn't even the first time they've been caught puling this sort of dumb crap, this is just one of several.

I get this sorta dumb shit being said by randos on the internet but when it's supposed to be actual journalism and professionals then where do we draw the line for this sorta shit ya know?
I agree 109%, but I feel like a lot of our recent problems in all are because of "putting people on a pedestal" and expecting too much out of them.
I have a lot of respect for various journalists and opinion piece authors, but in the end they are just people, and everyone needs to understand that.

Gamers have a pretty open platform to use their free speech. I think they view this as a threat because we can share information between each other. They would love to censor ALL. Fuck em. Great rant, good share, GAME ON. RESPECT

If you check out events regarding GamerGate, this makes a lot of sense on a level that is actually worrying.
There is a subtype of gamers which is okay with being shitty humans, either because of the lack of outsid experience about the world, or the necessary intelligence to comprehend it, or maybe both.
While the responsibility of the media is also massive, I'd suggest not to sweep this problem under the rug. GamerGate was disgusting for nearly everyone being involved and highlighted some serious issues that actually lead to the culture war, of which the alt-right is a manifestation.

There's isn't a ton of gaming and pop culture stuff on here. It's content most welcome as seen by your upvotes. As an early adopter, you'll do great before others jump on board. I appreciate there's a bit to learn but with all the payouts, sure makes it worth it with all the demonetization going around. All the best.
