Cuphead gameplay is too challenging so it's dubbed ableist. Cuphead bosses & enemies & design in general is racist because of the art style. SJW cringe knows no bounds so they claim ridiculous crap like this so after seeing this in my feed so much I said to hell with it let's do a rant. Remember everyone, get good or get a new game.

There's a boss or two in Cuphead that I haven't been able to defeat yet. Do I blame the game for being ableist against my particular skillset or do I blame myself for just not getting the patterns down 100% yet? I'm leaning towards the latter, but the former makes for better headlines!
Considering how you're able to beat Ghouls n Ghosts relatively easily I'd say it's only a matter of time before you eventually start doing this shit with your eyes closed

Yeah in no way should people be watering down games just to appease everyone else, we got plenty that are super accessible to a large audience. Ones like this cater to a different type of gamer from the oldschool days but in a modern setting and it's very much needed

Of course this is all fucking stupid, and these people are fucking idiots. If cuphead is ableist, then every single FPS is ableist, because not everyone has the motor control to play them. They're not! This isn't.
Cuphead is just a platformer. There have been a fuckton, many of them hard as fuck. It's just been a long ass time since we've had actually difficult video games. Mario Bros was hard as fuck, and the Nintendo controller buttons were hard as fuck, so your thumbs would be rubbed raw. Was that ableist, because some people couldn't play it? No! It's the game style.
Not everyone is good at every game style. But there are TONS of different styles of games. You play the ones you like, and/or are good at.
The art style is reminiscent of a style of American cartoon cinema from a time when there was a lot of racism, but an art style can't be racist. That's just fucking stupid. If they wanted to point out something specific, it would be different, but they're just showing how fucking stupid they are.
I feel as if they went after it because it was a hot and trending title so they exaggerated whatever they could out of it to try to push whatever argument they can. I tend to see this with entertainment all the time because it's their easiest method of arguing a point but not having much opposition. It's silly but this to them is an easy way to feel like they have something to fight for but not have to truly invest in said fight all the while make easy to claim and digest points.

My friend and I played this when it first came out, couldn't even beat the first level, and quit lol. So hard.
It's not too terribly difficult really, challenging for sure but it's oldschool gaming where you memorize enemy patterns and just crank through a little at a time til you can best the whole thing.

If you're big into oldschool platformers or run-n-gun titles then it's totally worth picking up. Especially since it's relatively cheap
Gaming journalism as a whole is dead. In a lot of ways the advent of social media and YouTube has somewhat killed it, because in part as a medium it hasn't had the time to evolve and develop to create critics in the same manner that there are movie critics and literary critics. The idea of the reviewer, as a whole, is something that can be done by everyone, and now is done by everyone since it's that easy and because a ton of gamers who game as a hobby are also technologically proficient, usually more so than professional 'reviewers'. They're irrelevant.
In a lot of ways, that's why we're seeing them hitch their horse to politics, especially identity politics. Its the only way that they have any real means of remaining relevant. They're essentially outsiders to the actual 'insider' group of those who play video games, but they can still score points with those who are casual to the hobby by appealing to the general political consensus of the public at the time. I don't really trust most review sites any more when I can get a better idea of what a fucking game is like by going to YouTube or gaming forums.
