In Elite: Dangerous, trading, communication, planning and most importantly: space travel, all take place in the cockpit of a fully customizable ship. Currently there are 15 ships available, although there are plans to have a total of 30 playable ships. Each ship has access to a range of different modules which they can fit to help specialize as traders, smugglers, bounty hounters, etc. However, something very unique about the ships in Elite: Dangerous is that the Sidewinder, the cheapest ship in the game, is as viable to play as the most expensive ship in the game, the Anaconda. Ships can be stored and bought at stations under the Shipyard tab at the station's main menu. You can also swap out between ships that you own at a shipyard as well.
